A stunning location and acres to explore

Barratta is a property steeped in local history, and has been ​offering quality agistment for over 20 years. Located just 45 ​minutes from Melbourne’s CBD with over 140 acres on the ​banks of the Yarra near Warrandyte, it provides both horses ​and their owners with a unique experience.

Kilometres of laneways and tracks to ride on mean there is ​no need to stray onto unsafe roads. Riding clubs and public ​trails are also a short float journey away.

The Property

The number of horses on the property is strictly limited, providing two ​paddocks per horse or group of horses. Not only does this mean our ​facilities are uncrowded, but it ensures quality pastures year-round and ​reduced feed bills for owners.

A pasture management program including fertilising and weed control is ​also in place, and the best hay in the district is cut at Barratta every ​summer.

A large security gate at the entrance to the property ensures limited ​access and safety for your horse, float and equipment.

Facilities

Riding facilities include a floodlit 60m x 20m arena complete with sprinkler system to reduce summer dust,

40m x 20m grass arena and spacious jumping area next to the Yarra.

Training and trail riding tracks cover the 140 acres, and crossing the river leads to even more.

Sheltered tack-up areas and stables, float parking, wash bays and holding yards are available. Feed sheds are provided, with ​an allocated area for each owner's belongings.

There are excellent instructors, farriers, dentists, vets and equine physiotherapists local to Barratta.

Services

A worming and vaccination program is implemented for all horses, and minor medical treatments such as injury dressing and ​vaccinations can be done for you if required. Short term and holiday stays can be arranged subject to availability.

Barratta's paddocks are well maintained, undergoing a regular program of fertilising, harrowing, manure collection and fence ​care. Large private, shared and group paddocks are all available and rotated regularly.

All horses are checked daily and fed Barratta hay if required. Hard feeding is also available for horses in private paddocks.

There are regular visiting instructors, farriers and equine vets, physios and dentists. Your horse can be collected and ​supervised during their treatment if you are unable to be there.
